Laura Veirs, Sunday, July 17, 2022 7:30PM

Event Summary

From Sunday, July 17, 2022 7:30PM
Laura Veirs

Additional Details

Portland’s Laura Veirs has a catalog of albums stretching back to 1999, earning raves from Jim James of My Morning Jacket, who calls her "the queen bee" and says, "my ear is her hive; she nests and makes honey in the hairs of my cochlea." We’ve seen Laura opening for Blind Pilot at The Ark, and we figured it was time for her full show. Laura’s music hangs between folk and alt-country, and she contributed quite a few songs to 2017’s case/lang/veirs project, recorded with k.d. Lang and Neko Case. She has written a children’s book, Libba: The Magnificent Musical Life of Elizabeth Cotten, and she hosts a podcast about parenting and performing. Laura comes to Michigan with a new song, “I Was a Fool,” about her recent divorce, and a new album, “My Echo,” that you can preorder at the show!
